2026 Comps - Results - Updated

The last round of the Club Championship was held on Sunday 13th September.

Attendence was reduced due to a clash with other sporting committments ie the big gemme.

A total of 7 fish were caught, including a 4lb rainbow by Ian McKenzie which consolidated his No 1 position in the Championship.  Consequently he has been crowned Champion for 2026.  

Ross Thorley and Iain Macfarlane each caught 3.

On Sunday 23rd Aug, 8 intrepid souls took part in the latest, round of the Club Championship.

It proved to be a tough day with few fish showing and even less being caught.

Iain Macfarlane had the highlight of the day with a lovely 3lb Brownie, whilst Alex Hepburn, Clive Wiilson and Malcolm Garrity all registered one Rainbow each.

The final round of the Championship will take place at the Reservoir on Sunday 13th Sept.

The Club outing to the Lake of Menteith on Friday 21st Aug saw 3 members take part with John McRae, describing it as "The best ever day" he'd had on the Lake.   

Kenny Whitehead proved to be 'Top Dog' with 21 fish to the boat followed by Steve Salmon with 16.

The next, and final of the season outing is scheduled for the Lake of Menteith on Saturday 10th October.

Stuart McWalters was the winner with his 2 fish being the only ones netted.

Stuart McWalters (centre) was the winner by a long shot with 4 fish netted by 10:34.  Second was Ian McKenzie (left) with 3, third being Brian Carraher (right) also with 3 fish.

The Club also had its second outing of the year - details below courtesy of Malcolm Garrity.

"Last month’s outing to Frandy saw 3 members fishing in extremely blustery and challenging conditions. Craig Smith landed 4 fish, John Macrae got 2 with Alex Hepburn registering 1." 

Ian McKenzie romped home on a very difficult day for fishing.

Club Outings
